On June 20-21, four of Dublin United’s Premier teams took part in the Santa Cruz Beach Soccer Championships. This is an annual event held on the Beach Boardwalk, details can be found here . It features 5 v. 5 soccer played barefoot in the sand with goalkeepers and mini-goals. Click “More” below for details and pictures. |
A great time was had by all the players and families as they got to experience this unique and exciting version of our favorite sport, and then hang out on the beach and play on the boardwalk between matches. The Magic (U-10 girls), Galaxy (U-10 girls), Hot Shots (U-12 girls), and Hawks (U-10 boys) all participated in the event. The Magic and the Hawks made it to their respective championship games where they both lost close games to finish in second place.
All the teams got together for a group shot to show their Dublin spirit.
