DIBs : Volunteer Sign-Up

DIBS is the online tool that posts Dublin United Soccer League volunteer tasks and opportunities.  Volunteers can see what tasks need to be done and claim that spot directly online!

  1. Navigate to the DIBS page
  2. Click on a Dib session
  3. Click on a Dib item
  4. Click Claim This Dib Item
  5. Enter volunteer name, contact info and player information
  6. Click Claim this Dib Item

IMPORTANT: By Claiming a Dib Item, you are agreeing to volunteer for that task for that duration.  After you have completed the Dibs task, an admin will mark your Dib Item as completed, crediting your volunteer hour(s).

VOLUNTEERS

Each family is required to contribute at least 6 volunteer hours to receive their $150 volunteer deposit.  In the case of multiple children in the program, only 6 hours total is required for the family (not an additional 6 hours per child).  Additional volunteer hours may be required for players in our Scholarship & Financial Aid Program.

Only designated volunteer roles, and volunteer opportunities posted through  DUSL website, are eligible for volunteer hour credit.  Please check with your coach or program directors to ensure your work qualifies for volunteer hour(s) credit. All volunteer hours are planned, scheduled and tracked by the DUSL administrator at admin@dublinsoccer.org

  • Volunteer deposits are eligible for refunds at the completion of the 6 volunteer hour requirement.
  • Volunteer refunds will be issued by DUSL to all members that qualify at different times of the playing season, based on volunteer dates or roles.
  • Any missing refund check or refund disputes must be communicated to DUSL in written form, by no later than January 30 of the next year.  For example if you are missing a check for volunteer hours in 2023, you must notify DUSL by January 30 2024. DUSL will not research disputes after that date.

To book volunteer hours and shifts:

  • Visit the DUSL website, select the tab called "Volunteers (DIBS)"
    • Select  the event that you wish to volunteer for and the dates and times you are available. ,
    • Once the volunteer shift is requested, you can send  an email to the DUSL administrator and she will confirm your scheduled volunteer event and shift.
    • DUSL DIBS system will ONLY schedule 3 and 6 hour shifts. Only the event shifts available will be offered to you. Modified shifts and dates will not be offered or accepted.

Dublin United Soccer League is a non-profit youth soccer organization.  Our Club operates on the support of volunteers and limited staff.  We thank our volunteers for all that they do!

2023/24 Volunteer Check Refund Process

To avoid confusion and to give members time to reconcile volunteer hours, DUSL has implemented a process with specific timelines for processing volunteer deposit checks.

All requirements for volunteer deposits must be met, prior to the issuing of any volunteer check. This includes:

  • Full payment of all current and outstanding registration fees.
  • Fulfillment of the mandatory 6 hours of volunteer time.
    • Members that cancel/no show/not sign in and out will not be credited for volunteer hours. DUSL maintains a tracking document that includes members that no show for volunteer assignments.
  • Fulfillment of additional required volunteer hours for all scholarship athletes.
  • Maintain good standing with DUSL

In 2023 we will issue volunteer deposit refund checks in 2 batches.

Batch #1 will be issued in October  for all volunteers fulfilling hours from March 1 - September 30th. Members that volunteer for the St. Patrick's Day, Shamrock Academy, Tryouts, Fireworks booth, & Photo Day will be included in this batch. This is pending all requirements for volunteer hours have been fulfilled, and members meet all requirements for a refund.

Batch #2 will be issued in December. All head coaches, assistant coaches (1 per competitive team and 2 per recreational team) and team managers (1 per team) will be included in this batch. This is pending all requirements for volunteer hours have been fulfilled, and members meet all requirements for a refund.

Any dispute or inquiry for 2023/24 volunteer hours MUST BE RESOLVED by January 31st, 2024.  All inquiries after that date will not be researched or deposit issued.

Designated Team Volunteer Roles

Parent volunteers play an impactful role on each soccer team in Dublin United Soccer League.  They are role models to our players and have the added benefit of enjoying the sport of soccer with their children!  Here are 5 reasons to volunteer for a role:

  1. Connect with your child and community
  2. Teach (and re-learn) valuable life lessons
  3. Develop new skills
  4. Pride in your accomplishments
  5. Refreshing fun and exercise

We understand not every parent can volunteer for a designated team role.  We have plenty of other volunteer opportunities in Dublin United Soccer League to show your support and contribute to the club (and earn your volunteer hour credits) through out the year.  Go to DIBS to see other volunteer opportunities and tasks that need help.

We will also welcome new project ideas for volunteering.  We are always in need of additional support for marketing, sponsorships, and operational support.  Contact our club admin at admin@dublinsoccer.org
